Picture of Nature

This was a picture I took of a plant in our family garden. I am not sure what type of plant it is but I took the picture because I really enjoyed the colors.

These are pictures that I took on my trip to Gunnison, Colorado. I took these pictures trying remember the several rules taught to me during the 8 weeks that I spent taking a photography class. I tried to balance the use of the "rule of thirds" and good scenery while taking these pictures. I was was visiting Colorado during the best time of the year for the aspen trees. The first picture was taken during my hike to the summit of Mount Crested Butte. (12,162 ft.) It shows a ski trail surrounded on both sides by the firing aspens. The second picture shows my dad as we headed down the mountain, walking through piles of aspen leaves as the bare aspen trees tower the background. The third picture was taken at a friends house in Crested Butte, CO during the sunset. Although the picture would be better without cars  in the foreground the background light was so amazing that I knew this picture had to be in my top five. The fourth picture shown here is a close-up of a flower hanging off of the front of my deck inside a pot. I really like how this picture really stands out and how detailed it is.

My favorite picture!!

This was by far my favorite picture taken during my 8 week photography class. This photo was taken during the intermission of a rain storm. The reason why I like this picture so much is because of not only how define the rainbow is but also the way the tree line is black and white while the sky is full of beautiful colors.

This is a picture of my two sisters that I took one evening before dinner. I went outside to try and get some photos of both of them and got this one. This picture of the two of them shows the advantages of childhood. I also really like how my youngest sister is close up to the camera while the oldest is in the background. This picture really show foreground, middle ground and and background.

What is present but isn't present?

This picture was taken at Red Rocks. What I did was I took a picture of a picture. This was a picture of "The Beatles" shown behind a glass case. I thought that this would be a great picture for the assignment of "What is present but isn't present?" because of the fact that it is a picture of a picture of some people who are dead. Therefore in this picture some of them are present but some of them are not present.

Coffee Beans

This was a picture taken outdoors around mid-day of a jar of coffee beans. I really like this picture because of the spoon or scooper is dug into the beans while nothing else is shown except for the beans in the background and the scoop shoveling up them up.
